Over time, brick, stone, limestone and CMU’s used for exterior elevation can accumulate all kinds of debris. The accumulation can be from dirt and grime to stains from water such as, rain, snow, algae, mold and mildew. Your exterior can even accumulate stains from wasp nests, bird droppings, and salt spots. Brick and concrete that is in areas with daily shadowing will often acquire mold or algae through the fall and winter seasons. Older surfaces also tend to be more porous from age and wear. This only encourages grime to build up more quickly.
Coatings and Water Repellents
Before considering application of external coatings, inspect the masonry and correct all deficiencies.
